Since joining Mercatus Capital in 2018, Joanna has spearheaded the launch of Eight Mercatus, which provides a unique platform to connect, nurture and support high-growth start-ups.

She prides herself on her ability to handpick and cultivate individuals for just the right job, and has further developed a knack for matching promising start-ups to the right investors.

Beyond the start-up capital, Joanna invests in the companies by creating the ideal environment for them to learn and grow in, supporting them with practical advice and individualised mentorship. It is her vision to create a wholesome ecosystem that includes not just the start-ups, but also the investors.

Joanna is well-experienced in both the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds, with her work portfolio taking her from the U.S. to Singapore — she was the Associate Director of Latona Associates Asia Pacific, a boutique investment firm based in New Hampshire, U.S.. Joanna later founded her own company, CloutShoppe.com, an online luxury e-commerce platform for discounted designer goods, which was created in partnership with Singapore Post Limited to much success.
